Whipped Body Butter

Whipped Body Butter
             An easy DIY recipe excellent for any skin type and completely natural ingredients.
  • ½ Cup Shea Butter
  • ½ Cup Cocoa Butter or Mango Butter
  • ½ Cup Coconut Oil
  • ½ Cup Olive Oil
  • Peppermint Essential Oil
In a double boiler or glass bowl, combine all ingredients together except the essential Oil. Bring to medium heat and stir constantly until all the ingredients are melted. Remove from the heat and let slightly cool. Move to the refrigerator and let cool for 1 hour. Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes or until it is fluffy. return to refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to set it. Store this in a glass jar with a lid. Use as you would use a regular body lotion. If your home stays above 75 degrees, it may soften and need to be kept at the fridge, but it will stay whipped at a temperature lower than that.

Pain Relieving Lotion Bar

Pain Relieving Lotion Bar
         Works to relieve muscle pain and tension.
  • 1/3 Cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1/3 Cup of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, or Mango Butter
  • 1/3 Cup of Beeswax
  • 1 Tablespoon of Menthol Crystals
  • 10 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 1.2 Teaspoon Arnica Oil (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a quart size glass jar and carefully place the jar in a small saucepan of water on the stove. Turn the burner on and bring water to a low simmer. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the menthol crystals until they dissolve. Add in the essential oils and arnica oil and stir until mixed. Carefully pour into molds or whatever you will be allowing the lotion bars to harden in. Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before popping out of molds. Store in a cool or dry place for up to six months.

To apply to skin: hold bar in hand and carefully rub on dry skin. The heat of the skin will transfer some of the lotion bar to the skin. I store my lotion bars on a small plate on my dresser and bathroom counter. Add more or less menthol for a more or less potent bar.

Revitalizing Face Mask

Revitalizing Face Mask
  • 1/2 Cup of Chopped Cumcumber
  • 1/2 Cup of Chopped Avocado
  • 1 Egg White
  • 2 Teaspoons of Powdered Milk
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until they become a smooth paste, apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave on your face for 30 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and then splash cool water on to close your pores. 

Nail Strengthening Treatment

Nail Strengthening Treatment 
  •  2 Teaspoons of Castor Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons of Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon of Wheat Germ Oil
Pour all ingredients into a seal-able bottle and shake well. Rub a small amount of the mixture onto your nails and leave on of 5 minutes. Wipe off with cotton. Use as often as needed.

Acne Spot Treatment

Acne Spot Treatment
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Water
 Pour yeast into a bowl and add water one drop at a time (approximately one teaspoon of water). Mix well after each drop until the mixture turns into a medium paste. Then add a drop or two of lemon juice to the paste, and keep stirring until the juice is blended in. Dab the paste on your breakouts. Let it dry and then go to sleep with it on. Rinse off in the morning.

Soothing Sunburn Mask

Soothing Sunburn Mask 
Yogurt is a natural healer that works by reestablishing the acid/alkaline balance of the skin to help heal a sunburn. This recipe provides some natural comfort.
  •  1/2 Cup of Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Bag of Chamomile Tea
  • 5 Drops of Grape-seed Oil or Flax-seed Oil
Steep and cool 1 bag of chamomile tea in a cup of boiling water. Strain the yogurt into a bowl through a cheesecloth or a paper towel for a few minutes. Add contents of a cooled tea bag to the strained yogurt and mix together. Apply the yogurt mixture to the sun affected area and let it dry for 15 minutes. After it has dried apply another layer on top. Repeat 3 to 5 times. Rinse off your face with cool water and then apply 1 to 3 drops of the grape-seed or flax-seed oil. The oil may be reapplied throughout the day. The mask itself may be applied 2 times daily until your burn fades.

Honey Cocoa Lip Butter

Honey Cocoa Lip Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Honey
  • 3/4 Teaspoon of grated Beeswax
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of pure Cocoa Butter
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Flavored Oil
  • 1 Vitamin E Capsule
In a small saucepan, over low heat, heat the oil, honey, beeswax, and cocoa butter until melted. Remove from heat and let it sit to cool for 4 minutes. Stir in the vanilla flavor and the Vitamin E capsule contents. Put into container of your choice. 

Dry Skin Treatment

Dry Skin Treatment

  • 2 Tablespoons of Mayonnaise
  • 1 Teaspoon of Baby Oil
Mix the ingredients well. Smooth onto any area that is dry. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off.

Jasmine Cream Perfume

Jasmine Cream Perfume
         Jasmine is great for the skin, especially dry or sensitive skin, But use the lotion sparingly; it's extremely potent, so you only need a dab to get the desired effect.

    • 1/2 Teaspoon of Borax Powder
    • 1/2 Cup of Rose Water
    • 6 Tablespoons of grated Beeswax
    • 2 Tablespoons of Avocado Oil
    • 1/4 Cup of Jojoba
    • 2 Tablespoons of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
    • 1 Teaspoon of Palm Stearic Acid
    • 14 Drops of Jasmine Absolute
This recipe makes approximately 1 1/2 cups of cream.

In a saucepan, over low heat combine the borax and the rose water. Dissolve the borax. Remove from the heat, cover, and set aside. In the top of a double boiler, over low heat, melt the beeswax with the avocado oil, jojoba, and olive oil, and blend well. Stir in the palm stearic and remove from the heat. Whisking swiftly, drizzle the rose water solution into the beeswax mixture. Continue whisking until a thick cream forms, the gently fold in the jasmine absolute. Transfer the cream to a prepared container and seal tightly. Stored in a refrigerator, this cream will keep for 6 months.

Sweet Citrus Body Polish

Sweet Citrus Body Polish
        Helps to exfoliate the skin

    • 3/4 Cup of Liquid Castile Soap
    • 3/4 Cup of Jojoba
    • 2 Tablespoons of Sweet Almond Oil
    • 1/2 Cup of fine Sea Salt
    • 2 Tablespoons of coarse Sea Salt
    • 1/2 Teaspoons of Sweet Orange Essential Oil
    • 1/2 Teaspoon of Tangerine Essential Oil
    • 10 Drops of Neroli Essential Oil
This recipe makes enough for 8 showers.

In a bowl, combine the castile soap, jojoba, and sweet almond oil and blend well. Add the fine and coarse sea salts, and the essential oils. Blend again. Transfer the polish to a prepared container, preferably a wide-mouth jar so you can easily scoop it out. Seal tightly. Stored in a cool, dry place, this body polish will keep for 1 year.

Nourishing Bath Oil
       The highly aromatic essential oils blend musky earth scents with sweet florals; they come from herbs that stimulate the sebaceous glands, which properly regulate the skin's moisture level.

    • 2 Tablespoons of Avocado Oil
    • 2 Tablespoons of Castor Oil
    • 2 Tablespoons of Sweet Almond Oil
    • 2 Tablespoons of Wheat Germ Oil
    • 8 Drops of Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil
    • 6 Drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil
    • 4 Drops of Fir Needle Essential Oil
    • 3 Drops of Patchouli Essential Oil
    • 2 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
This makes enough for 25 baths.

In a prepared container, combine the ingredients, seal tightly, and shake gently to blend. Stored in a refrigerator this will keep for up to 3 months. 
To use:  add about 1 teaspoon of bath oil to your bathwater before sliding in to soak. Before you dry your body off rub the oil into your skin, especially spots that are prone to dryness.

Natural Eczema Remedies 
            Eczema is often caused by some sort of food or airborne allergy. It can be minimized by determining the allergens and adjusting accordingly. Many tend to ignore that is it improving life style choices including diet and exercise does more than topical or oral treatments. Eliminating chemically sprayed vegetables and fruits, all processed foods, junk foods, sugars, and artificial sweeteners goes a long way toward curing eczema or any type of skin condition. Sweat can act as a trigger to eczema, so try to avoid sweating whenever possible or shower immediately after sweating. 

Top 10 Natural Remedies 

  1.  Organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil
  2.  Apply vitamin E oil, especially natural D-alpha tocopherol with mixed natural tocopherols. You can break open gel capsules for the oils. Avoiding synthetic vitamin E oil is tricky. So read labels closely, research, or ask a reliable sales person. Avoid vitamin E acetate.
  3.  Make a strong brew of chamomile tea from fresh dried herbs by steeping for 15 minutes minimally. Apply to the eczema area with gauze for 20 minutes. This can be done more than once daily to relieve acute symptoms.
  4.  Aloe Vera gel, especially when mixed with vitamin E oil, is a useful symptom remedy. Gels from freshly cut aloe vera leaves are optimum.

  8. Make a tea of calendula, a marigold flower, with five drops of lavender essential oil added, then apply to the affected area twice a day until the irritation is relieved.
  9.  Skin three organic carrots and boil them till they're soft. Mash until you get a smooth paste, and then apply to affected areas for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water when the 15 minutes is up.
  10. Mix a tablespoon of medical or food grade ground juniper berry, with a tablespoon of sage and a tablespoon of thyme into a cup of boiling water, cover and let stand for five or more minutes. Drink the whole cup after your main meal.

Sweet Orange Body Lotion

Sweet Orange Body Lotion

  • 1/4 Cup Orange Floral Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Borax Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Grated Beeswax
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 16 Drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
  • 12 Drops Tangerine Essential Oil
In a bowl, combine the orange, floral water, honey, and borax powder and blend well. Set aside. In the top of a double boiler, over low heat, melt the beeswax with the sweet almond and coconut oils and blend well. Whisking continuously, drizzle the floral water solution into the beeswax mixture. Continue to whisk as the lotion turn opaque and thickens. Fold in the essential oils. Transfer the lotion to a prepared container and seal tightly. Stored in a refrigerator it will keep for 3 months.

This recipe makes approximately 1 cup of lotion.

Rose Bubble Bath

Rose Bubble Bath


  • 2 Cups Liquid Castile Soap
  • 1/2 Cup Rose Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Glycerin
  • 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 30 Drops Rose Geranium Essential Oil
  • 8 Drops Rosewood Essential Oil
In a bowl, combine the castile soap and the rose water. When well blended, add the glycerin, salt, and the essential oils. Stir until well mixed.

Transfer the bubble bath to a prepared container and seal tightly.This makes approximately 1 cup, enough for 5-6 baths. Stored in a cool, dark place, it will keep for 1 year.

Gold Juice

This juice will help awaken your skin and restore your natural glow.

Ingredients

  • 1 Slice of Charentais or Ogen Melon
  • Juice of 1 Orange
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 1/2 Cup Chilled Carrot Juice
Cut off and discard the melon rind, then coarsely chop the flesh, and put it into a food processor or blender.

Pour in the orange juice, lemon juice, and carrot juice and process until thoroughly combined. Pour into a glass, decorate with an orange slice, and serve immediately. 

Detox Juice

This is a juice full of Vitamins A and C, and is restorative to your skin and hair. 

Ingredients
  • 1 Mango
  • 4 Kiwi Fruit
  • 1 1/2 Cups Pineapple Juice
  • 4 Fresh Mint Leaves

Cut the mango into 2 thick slices as close to the pit as possible. Scoop out the flesh and chop coarsely. cut off any flesh adhering to the pit. Peel the kiwi fruit with a sharp knife and chop the flesh. 

Put the mango, kiwi fruit, pineapple juice, and mint leaves into a food processor or blender until thoroughly combined. Pour into chilled glasses and serve.
