Whipped Body Butter
An easy DIY recipe excellent for any skin type and completely natural ingredients.
  • ½ Cup Shea Butter
  • ½ Cup Cocoa Butter or Mango Butter
  • ½ Cup Coconut Oil
  • ½ Cup Olive Oil
  • Peppermint Essential Oil
In a double boiler or glass bowl, combine all ingredients together except the essential Oil. Bring to medium heat and stir constantly until all the ingredients are melted. Remove from the heat and let slightly cool. Move to the refrigerator and let cool for 1 hour. Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes or until it is fluffy. return to refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to set it. Store this in a glass jar with a lid. Use as you would use a regular body lotion. If your home stays above 75 degrees, it may soften and need to be kept at the fridge, but it will stay whipped at a temperature lower than that.

Pain Relieving Lotion Bar

Pain Relieving Lotion Bar
Works to relieve muscle pain and tension.
  • 1/3 Cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1/3 Cup of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, or Mango Butter
  • 1/3 Cup of Beeswax
  • 1 Tablespoon of Menthol Crystals
  • 10 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 1.2 Teaspoon Arnica Oil (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a quart size glass jar and carefully place the jar in a small saucepan of water on the stove. Turn the burner on and bring water to a low simmer. Stir ingredients constantly until they are melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the menthol crystals until they dissolve. Add in the essential oils and arnica oil and stir until mixed. Carefully pour into molds or whatever you will be allowing the lotion bars to harden in. Allow the lotion bars to cool completely before popping out of molds. Store in a cool or dry place for up to six months.

To apply to skin: hold bar in hand and carefully rub on dry skin. The heat of the skin will transfer some of the lotion bar to the skin. I store my lotion bars on a small plate on my dresser and bathroom counter. Add more or less menthol for a more or less potent bar.
